Sculpture two of three symbolizes the ship and the pursuit of the Snark. The oak logs become a black sea. Felt in the logs is a loudspeaker for the music by Arne Nordheim “The hunting of the Snark” played by Gaute Vikdal. The next sculpture will also have an integrated loudspeaker to provide stereo on each side of the Snark (sculpture 1).
The use of veneer is a technique used for boat / kayak construction. The oaks was cut for use on yards to support larger ships.
